Born and raised in the notorious but vibrant township of eSikhawini Rez now resides in Durban. Rez has been rapping under the radar for a couple of years, and was part of the now defunct group called Spoken Cylinz, which was made up of Rez, Megatone and Mthunzi Mchunu (now a bass guitar player for Durban Experimental hip-hop outfit Tree Houses On The SeaMost notably Rez has appeared on KZN Prototype mixtape which was sold in the Empangeni and Durban area. The Rezolution mixtape in therefore Rez Proph first solo dish out, and serves as a pre-tape to his upcoming street debut album later this year. The Rezolution mixtape a true testament of this talented wordsmith. The release of this mixtape only mounts high expectations as to what the Album will offer, as the mix tape fails to disappoint. If you love hiphop tracks like “who killed the noise, Tight track, Favorite rapper, Ishole and I am” will be on high rotation on your ipods. The mix tape also features mad collabos from heavyweights like Cap City’s finest Damola, and Liquid KZN’s Alligatah MC. Production of the Mixtape includes Mthakathi, MTM, Aligatah MC and KZN’s super producers Robotron and MK-1.

Liquid K-ZN The theme of the Liquid KZN upcoming offering is still LIQUID. It is official Liquid KZN have dropped their second offering "Aqua Flow Agenda" . Guest line ups include Abdus, Skye Wanda, SOS, Damola and Rez Proph to name a few. Production credits includes Nyambz, Battle Kat, Simple Fet, Alligatah MC and more. About 17 years ago the only "local Hiphop material" you could find in the major music chain stores was the Prophet's of the City's Age of Truth 'one of my favaourate albums. Forward to 2009 the state of hiphop is different from what it was. The Art has grown so much and this can be attributed to the love and common cause that notable crews have today. A perfect example of this setup, is the Durban scene, where hiphop is more vibrant than ever, and as we have seen 2009 has seen notable released from Durban that cannot be ignored. On the pic , anti-clockwise from the right is MarazA, Yzmen Temple of Liquid K- ZN, Chyld, Abduss and (?? the crazy freestyler) @ the instore album promotion by Abdus and Liquid K-ZN hosted by the Ritual Stores Newtown. OH MarazA also mentioned something about his album dropping soon so we will look out for that. Also check out MarazA on Zakwe's Red tape Rez Proph on Spread the Word Check out Africa's fast and upcoming Rez Proph on this US based International mixtape. The Rez Proph Track that made it on this mixtape was Party over here (to our surprise/ as it is a vernac track, so may be there is a market for SA vernac tracks outside our borders). This particular track was thrown on the internet through the Rez Proph Rezolution Mixtape released early this year. Hard copies of the rezolution mixtape will also hit the streets before the end of this year with special productions from Africa's dope producer Nyambz on some of the tracks. Not one but two emcess represented Africa on this tape, as Tem-Wah also contributes a track on this tape. WHY is a Robotron produced track that was also selected by the US based Nofrills to be on this mixtape.
